1. What were you struggling with BEFORE we started working together.
“Our home was previously renovated but some features were intentionally left undone (we’ll get to that later, we thought) and were now seriously outdated and needed to be taken care of. It was not a pleasure to use these spaces and they were a bit of an eyesore. I had great ideas but lacked the experience and vision to make them happen.”

2. What insights and breakthroughs did you receive DURING our work together.
“Some improvements require small changes (paint, accessories and rearrangement of furniture) and some improvements require big changes ( complete re-do of the laundry room). It’s important to discover one’s style preferences and proceed at a pace that is comfortable for you; it doesn’t have to be done all at once! Lux | Luxor is good at walking you through this process step by step.

Once the initial updates were done, I could better visualize and catalog the other items on my ‘to do’ list. I learned how to better define my style preferences and I developed an appreciation for new ideas. Thanks Lux | Luxor for letting me experiment in colors!! Otherwise my house would still be all beige! (There were other colors but you couldn’t tell…) He offered to return the color to the original if I did not like the new suggestions. He made it easier to take risks and step out of one’s comfort zone always with the assurance that we could change this if it didn’t work for you. No need to stay stuck in a rut, but no pressure to go crazy and end up with ‘high design’ that just isn’t you. Now that’s what I call ‘design therapy’.”

3. What specific results have you experienced AFTER working with me.
“We are now enjoying our home more fully and using spaces that we NEVER used before. A few strategic updates in paint color and furniture selection and placement have revitalized our home. Spaces that were once just ‘there’, now serve AND please us.

We are enjoying our home once again! The master bedroom is now a master retreat. Once reserved for sleeping, I now get away for some quiet day-time hours in the newly arranged space after a face lift which included paint, rearrangement of furniture we already had and a few design elements (strategic decorating and art work).

We now actually lounge in the living room after furniture re-arrangement allowed us to enjoy the large picture windows previously blocked. Now why didn’t I think of that before?

We have completely re-modeled our laundry room. This is now transformed from a place to wash the clothes and get out, to a stylish, orderly place that is refreshing to visit. We have joked about adding a chaise lounge and TV so we can spend more time there!

Spaces can become familiar and boring after some years. But after 8 years in our home, it is once again a delight to use our space, as when you move into a new home. I believe your home or any other space should serve, inspire and support you and after a long day at work, that is what we have in our home again.”

1. What were you struggling with BEFORE we started working together.
“I chose the Rawlins duplex because I needed a month-to-month lease while waiting for a new condo to be completed. Close proximity to the Turtle Creek location of the under-construction condo and proximity to UTSW were important. The Rawlins duplex appealed to me because it was on the first floor with large bedrooms, good closet space and a nice yard.”

2. What insights and breakthroughs did you receive DURING our work together.
“While spending five months at Rawlins I got to try new restaurants, enjoyed shopping, visits to the Arts District and being close to friends. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of management. I can honestly say my every need was met.”

3. What specific results have you experienced AFTER working with me.
“A charming two bedroom home with wood floors, a nice living area with big windows, a cute dining room and a tile sunroom proved to be most enjoyable. The pleasant walking neighborhood was great as well.

I would expect the next tenant to have the same positive experience I enjoyed. The owner/manager will definitely work to maintain what he describes as a “cool, cozy” atmosphere.

Come take a look and see what you think.”
